Legacy NIDS patching is scheduled in Kansas City today, Friday
Sept 03. NIDS services are currently being moved to College Park
to minimize impacts, with the exception of WWW for SPOT and CMS.
Patching is scheduled to end at 2100Z. A final notification will
be sent once patching is complete.
Operational Impacts:
-Rsync delays, which may cause slow to update WWA maps and
weather stories.
-Up to an hour outage of NWWS-OI during failover (NWWS-OI and
RA4-GIFS will be failed over to College Park at 1330Z).

..DATAFLOW SERVER ISSUE RESOLVED...
NCO's Linux systems support rebooted an operational dataflow
server in College Park out of read-only mode. Afterwards, NCO
dataflow support restarted processes on the server to get data
flowing again. The dataflow server is currently processing a
data backlog that includes MRMS data, and NCO will monitor queues
in the meantime. Please report any lingering issues to Tech
Control at nco.ops@noaa.gov.

- ENDING: 12Z TUE AUG 31 2021
- REASON: Tropical Storm Ida and associated watches along the
Central Gulf Coast.
* NCEP and NCF are also participating in this CWD to
ensure a reliable flow of weather data.
All scheduled software/hardware/network changes for the
impacted offices will be postponed until the CWD has ended.
Any emergency changes will be evaluated and approved by
regional management officials. NWS offices should contact
their regional offices for further questions about this
CWD.
Those outside the CWD area should limit their NWSChat Live
usage as much as possible.

...ESTOFS MODEL DELAY - RESOLVED...
The earlier problem with the ESTOFS model has been resolved,
and the 18Z ESTOFS is running on time.
The root cause of the earlier issue were non-physical
maximum wind speeds, and NCO's model production team worked
with developers to implement a fix. While the 00Z model
could not be salvaged, the 06Z cycle was successfully rerun.
The 12Z cycle completed successfully, but it was delayed
as detailed below.
IMPACTS:
The 25/00Z ESTOFS will not be available.
The 25/06Z ESTOFS was approximately 7.5 hours late.
The 25/12Z ESTOFS was approximately 3.5 hours late.

NCO and developers have implemented a workaround for the
non-physical maximum winds. The 06Z ESTOFS is currently
re-running. In the meantime, the 12Z ESTOFS is temporarily
suspended. Impacts: The 25/00Z ESTOFS will not be available, the
25/06Z ESTOFS is currently delayed by over 4.5 hours, and the
25/12Z ESTOFS will be delayed by at least 2 hours.
