WIDESPREAD WFO NETWORK OUTAGES...
WFOs internet and AWIPS connections have remained stable since
the circuit was restored in College Park Tuesday morning. NCO's
network team will continue to work towards mitigating impacts
during the recurring circuit outages in College Park.
NWS BROADCAST REPEATED MESSAGES...
The problem with NWS products being broadcasted multiple times
was traced to Monday's efforts to mitigate impacts from the
temperature spike in the College Park Data Center. NCO
implemented a fix to correct the issue at 2:00pm EDT Tuesday.
MRMS...
CONUS QPE data continues to not update on MRMS
(https://mrms.ncep.noaa.gov/data/). The problem has been linked
to the College Park Data Center Outage. Efforts to restore the
data will resume early Wednesday.
RECOVERY EFFORTS IN THE COLLEGE PARK DATA CENTER...
No significant updates during overnight restoration efforts. NCEP
Center's (OPC, CPC, and WPC) operations remain severely degraded
due to downed NetApp systems in College Park. No ETR.

Several storage systems in the College Park data center remain
down after Monday afternoon's temperature spike. Systems have
been automatically repairing themselves overnight, but NCO's
NetApp Team are working to provide an estimate of when storage
systems will be fully recovered. Additional support was engaged
overnight to keep IDP Applications running in Boulder healthy and
to investigate mitigating impacts to WPC and OPC operations.

NCO continues efforts to recover systems impacted by a
temperature chiller issue in the CP data center that occurred
shortly before 15/16Z...part of this recovery effort includes
rebuilding multiple disks that were impacted from overheating.
No ETR at this time. Once disk rebuilding work is complete, we
expect Intranet and ftpprd websites to be restored back to
normal. For ftpprd users you can use nomads.ncep.noaa.gov as a
fully viable HTTPS backup to FTPPRD.

...GOES-E Meso 1 Sector to follow Lunar Shadow during Eclipse...
The GOES-16 (East) Meso-1 sector will follow the path of the
Moon’s shadow across the Earth by repositioning the MDS center
point every 5 minutes, keeping the shadow located near the center
of the image. The first GOES-16 Meso-1 aim change for the eclipse
will be at 1700 UTC and located over the Eastern Pacific, and the
final MDS location will be over Newfoundland at 1940 UTC and
remain in place until 2000 UTC.
