Previous Monthly Raob Data Reports of Manual Quality Control
SUBJECT: Monthly Raob Data Report of Manual Quality Control
The Raob Report for June, compiled from the Raob Recap statements in the
SDM logs, which does not necessarily include data that were rejected by
automated computer generated quality control, indicates the following:
(1) Reports from 37 U.S. stations (Blocks 72 and 74) were cited at least
once; 12 were cited at least twice; and 4 were cited at least three times.
Of those, the following were cited more than three times or had two or more no
reports:
STATION__ DEL BAS COR XRP EFL SHO TOTAL
72240/LCH 1 5 1 7
72214/TAE 3 1 4
72393/VBG 4 4
At station LCH, all equipment failures were due to ground equipment failures.
All but one manual deletion at stations TAE and VBG were due to wet bulb
effects.
(2) Reports from 49 stations in blocks 04, 70, 71, 76, 78 and 91 were cited
at least once; 28 were cited at least twice; and 18 were cited at least three
times. Of those, the following were cited more than three times or had two or
more no reports:
STATION__ DEL BAS COR XRP EFL SHO TOTAL
91348/PNI 23 23
91413/YAP 18 18

Station PNI reported numerous ground equipment failures and preventive
maintenance throughout June. Stations YAP, AKN, and GCM also reported
ground equipment failures at various times. Station CUU and MAJ reported
a few flight equipment failures throughout the month. At stations PPG,
all manual deletions were due to wet bulb effects. However, at stations
MTY, YBK, YPH, YSM, YEV, and GDL, there were a variety of different
reasons for manual deletions. Baseline errors were frequently reported,
especially at stations YBK, YPH, YEV, and GDL.
* The total differs from the sum of the itemized citations
because of multiple citations in the same raob(s).
Citation Codes Key:
DEL All or part of the raob was flagged for deletion.
BAS A baseline hgt/station press error was corrected or purged.
COR At least one correction other than baseline was made.
XRP Station sent no report at all when one was required.
EFL Equipment failure (codes 10142, 10144, 10158, etc.)
