README.txt for uvi.v2.0 package

This software package is for the UVI Forecast v2.0.
It is an upgrade from UVI v1.1.1 to include the following changes:
a. Use GEFS aerosol forecasts
b. Increase temporal resolution from 3-hrly to 1-hrly
c. Increase spatial resolution from 0.5deg to 0.25deg
d. Bug fixes: interpolation; degree to radian conversion; noontime compositie assignment; aerosol effect calculations; albedo effects calculations.


UVI v1.1.1 on WCOSS2 is identical to v1.0.3 on WCOSS machine. This version is operational in 2006.xx.xx-2023.10.29.
UVI v2.0 is scheduled to go operational on 2023-10-30.
