Information About The Images

  • Three image resolutions are currently available:
    • coarse (640x480 image size, approximately 37 kilobytes per image),
    • medium (1024x768 image size, approximately 70 kilobytes per image),
    • fine (1280x1024 image size, approximately 100 kilobytes per image)
  • Four panel charts only display coarse resolution images.
  • The date given below for each model run cycle refers to its most recent run date.

2006-May
  • SREF Graphics are made at each three hour forecast time step.
  • New SREF probablity graphics are added for CAPES greater than 2000, 6-hr Precipitions greater than .25 and 10m Winds greater than 25 knots
  • New WRF graphics for 24-hr, 36-hr, and 48-hr total precipitation are added.
2005-Sep
  • A new region is added depicting the Eastern Pacific (40N-25S,180-80W)
  • Graphics from the WRF em and nmm models are added.
  • The projection of the SREF graphics are changed to polar stereographic.
2004-Feb
  • Two new graphics depicting CAPE/CIN and Helicity are added to the RUC model.
  • A new graphic depicting 10 meter winds is available from the GFS model display.
  • The home pages are updated to meet National Weather Service standards.
2003-Nov
  • A complete set of RUC graphics are now available for the North American domain.
  • Graphics from the regional Western North Atlantic WNA model and the regional Eastern North Pacific ENP oceanographic model are now available under the NWW3 Wave Watch III page. These graphics are available for the North Pacific and and Western North Atlantic domains.
  • A new series of charts from the MMAB Polar Ice Drift model are now available. To view, click on "Polar Ice Drift" link below .
  • Also, titles printed at the bottom of all graphics have been updated to have a more readable date.
