File Systems
There are separate GPFS filesystems on blue/white with GPFS being used for home directory on White. NFS filesystem is used for home on blue, frost, and snow. HPSS is available for general use in Gaithersburg, HPSS in Fairmount is for production use only.
NFS
- Permanent space shared between systems (snow/frost/blue)
- Home directories will have a 5 MB quota
- Use NFS for small files
- Use rcp to copy larger files to NFS
GPFS on Blue
- 21 TB in /gpfs/b (11.3TB for prod)
- /gpfstmp is scrubbed once a day, /ptmp every 10 days
- Permanent GPFS space not available yet, GPFS IS NOT BACKED UP
- Users have 210GB quota - Larger staff quota
- Additional disk space is on the way
GPFS on White
- 17 TB in /gpfs/w (11.3 for prod)
- 5 TB in /gpfs/w2 (home)
- /gpfstmp is scrubbed once a day, /ptmp every 10 days
- Permanent GPFS space available in /gpfs/w2, NOTHING IS BACKED UP ON WHITE
- /ptmp, /gpfstmp - High performance
- Users have 210GB quota (/ptmp, /gpfstmp)
- Additional disk space is on the way
